Retreats & Meetings
A House Devoted to Your Time Together
Enjoy a quiet, private setting for your group, designed to support focused time for learning, worship, planning, and rest.
Overnight Retreats
Overnight retreat groups are generally limited to 25 guests, which allows everyone to be comfortably accommodated in shared bedrooms and ensures that the common spaces never feel crowded. Groups have access to:
- The entire main house, including meeting areas, dining room, and chapel
- Upstairs bedrooms with twin beds arranged retreat-house style
- Shared bathrooms that are carefully cleaned and maintained
- The surrounding grounds, gardens, and seasonal pool
This exclusive-use model gives your group freedom to set its own rhythm—whether you need quiet mornings, extended sessions, or late-night conversations.
Leader or Facilitator Apartment
For groups that would benefit from a bit of additional privacy for a speaker, facilitator, or retreat leader, a small on-site apartment is available for an additional fee. This separate space offers a quiet place to prepare, rest, and reflect while still being close to the group.

Day Retreats & Conferences
Kirby Episcopal House also welcomes day-use groups for retreats, meetings, and small conferences. Day groups may use:
- The first floor of the main house
- The lower level of the carriage house
- The surrounding lawns and gardens
Day groups of up to 50 people can be comfortably accommodated in the dining and meeting areas, with room for both plenary sessions and informal conversation. This option works well for:
- Nonprofit board or committee meetings
- Church leadership days
- Planning or training sessions
- Single-day retreats without overnight lodging

Picnic & Large Outdoor Gatherings
For outdoor-focused events, churches and nonprofit groups are invited to plan picnics and seasonal gatherings at Kirby Episcopal House. Picnic groups:
- Utilize the lower level of the carriage house and the surrounding grounds
- May bring their own food or arrange for meals through Kirby Episcopal House staff
- Have access to a propane grill for cooking on-site
The carriage house lower level can comfortably serve picnic groups of up to 100 people, making it ideal for church picnics, reunion-style gatherings, and informal celebrations.
Pool & Outdoor Amenities
During the warmer months, all groups—overnight, day, and picnic—are invited to incorporate the swimming pool and adjacent bath house into their planned activities. The pool area provides a relaxed setting for free time, informal fellowship, and summer fun.
- Use of the swimming pool is at your own risk.
- All children must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult designated by the group.
In addition to the pool, the grounds offer lawns and outdoor spaces suitable for games, quiet walks, and small breakout conversations.

Meeting Spaces & Room Setups
Kirby Episcopal House offers several flexible spaces that can be arranged to match the style of your gathering.
Living Room – Large Group Sessions
- For lectures, talks, or presentations, the living room can be set in rows to comfortably accommodate up to 50 guests.
- For smaller groups or more informal gatherings, the same space can be arranged with the existing furniture in a conversational layout, encouraging discussion and community.
Additional Indoor Spaces
- Dining room, chapel, and smaller sitting rooms can be used for breakout discussions, prayer, or small-group work.
Outdoor Spaces
- Portions of the grounds and garden areas may also be used informally for breakout groups, weather permitting.
The variety of indoor and outdoor spaces allows you to design a retreat that moves naturally between plenary sessions, small groups, and times of quiet reflection.
